History of Pillars

Pillars is the new name representing the integration of two of Chicagoland's strongest local mental health/social services providers: Community Care Options (1928) and Pillars Community Services (1968). With over a century of service between them, these agencies enjoyed excellent reputations in their respective service areas, which shared a common geographic border. Pillars is CARF accredited and Medicaid certified, and has been working with youth, providing mental health services, case management and service coordination through its predecessor agencies for its entire history. The Pillars merger became official July 2006. For more detailed information about the history of Pillars and its preceding organizations, click here.
