Buddy's Place


 Buddy's Place, a program of Pillars, is a family based bereavement support program for children ages 4-18 and their families who have experienced the death of a parent, guardian or significant caregiver. Founded by Linda Moran, MS, LCPC, CT and directed by Kelly Huggins LCSW, Buddy's Place offers a number of support services such as:

  • Time-limited and ongoing support groups year round
  • Services at no cost
  • Monthly gatherings where families work on a creative grief-related projects together and connect with other families who have had a similar experience
  • 8-week sessions which are offered 2 times a year where children and their family members gain insight into the grieving process, learn new coping skills, feel supported and have the opportunity to connect with other grieving families.  Sessions begin in March and September.
  • Children and adults connect and support each other in their grief
  • Additional services such as a group for bereaved spouses which provides education, support, and connection with people in similar circumstances
