Licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Pillars' Child and Family Development Center offers Head Start, Early Head Start and high quality childcare for low-income and working poor families.  Tri-lingual teachers, family support specialists, and advocates work with families to ensure that our children receive a strong, healthy start in life.

Enrolled children and their families receive services including classroom observations, developmental and behavioral screenings (completed within the first 45 days of enrollment), ongoing individual observations and assessment, referrals for speech and language evaluations, mental health referrals, and individualized child development plans and activities.

Our educational programs emphasize language, literacy, math, science, health, nutrition, physical, and cognitive activities. Children also receive free physical exams and screenings to ensure that they are developing on target according to their age. Screenings include developmental, social emotional, hearing and vision, hemoglobin and/or hematocrit, dental, T.B., height and weight, and diabetes.
