Community Housing Initiatives

The Community Housing Initiatives provide housing options for adults and families.  Program goals include residential stability, an increase in skills and/or income and greater self-determination.  The overarching goal is simply to keep people housed and prevent homelessness.

LaGrange Area Transitional Housing (LATH) helps stabilize families at risk of homelessness by providing housing assistance and mentorship guidance for up to two years.  For more information about our LATH program, click here.   If you are interested in becoming a LATH mentor, contact Colleen Mallon at cmallon@pillarscommunity.org or 708.995.3512

Wellness Initiative Network (WIN) aims to address the immediate and long-term medical and mental health needs, thereby assisting homeless persons to obtain and remain in permanent housing, increase skills and/or income and achieve greater self determination.

West Cook Housing Initiative Partnership (WCHIP) is designed to reduce the barriers for homeless individuals to quickly access needed medical care, mental health services and substance abuse services while providing the stability of permanent and supportive housing.

Community Integrated Living Arangement (CILA) provides staff support and habilitation for individuals living with mental illness as well as on-site monitoring to ensure client's needs are met.

West Cook Housing Action Network Choice Endeavors (WCHANCE) will launch in 2011 and will be dedicated to providing safe, stable, affordable housing and the services required to maintain housing for individuals suffering from either physical disabilities, substance abuse or mental health disabilities that are homeless in the suburban West and Southwest Cook area.
