Volunteer


  We love our volunteers and have just the opportunity for you! 

Receptionist and Clerical Support: Assist with daily tasks that could include: filing, chart organization, labeling, data input, etc. Located at various offices including:  Western Springs, Berwyn and Foxfire Psychosocial  Rehabilitation program in Summit

LATH Mentor: Work in a mentor team to serve as a life skills coach to a family in the LaGrange Area Transitional Housing (LATH) program.  This is a long term volunteer opportunity.  Mentors are required to meet with clients one hour per week during the introductory stages.  Located in the LaGrange area.

Ambassadors: Attend community festivals and events to educate the attendees on Pillars.  Training will be conducted on the programs and services Pillars offers.  Time commitment will be various events throughout the year. Located in Pillars service area.
 
Hope Chest: Hope Chest is an upscale resale shop run by volunteers to benefit Constance Morris House.  Volunteer to work in the shop or to 'shop' for our clients.  Click here for more information

Special Event Volunteers: Volunteers needed for special events such as the Pillars Ball in January or the Pillars House Tour in June. Opportunities could range from serving on a planning committee to assisting the day of the event.

Sexual Assault Advocate Position: Provide medical and criminal advocacy to individuals and families affected by sexual violence at local hospital emergency rooms and police departments.  Provide crisis interention services to victims and significant others.  Must complete Pillars' free 40 hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training and be responsible for taking 2 shifts per month on the Pillars' 24-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Hotline.  Located at  Constance Morris House. Board of Directors: The quality of our Board's leadership and their commitment to our mission is fundamental to the growth and success of Pillars.  Ours is a 100% volunteer board, representing a broad cross section of our communities, to include business leaders, educators, clinicians, physicians, community advocates, attorneys, and more!  Members serve on various committees, to include:  Governance, Finance, Programs, Resource Development, and Human Resources.
